Ranwa Al Mallah is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Innovations in Transportation at Ryerson University working under the supervision of Dr. Bilal Farooq. Ranwa completed her Bachelor and Master’s degree at Polytechnique Montreal in 2008 and she specialized in telecommunications and networking. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the department of Computer and Software Engineering in 2018. Her research on vehicular networks and traffic safety and efficiency applications led to her thesis: Traffic congestion analysis via connected vehicles, where she applied artificial intelligence techniques to solve different problems in this field of application. She has over eight years of industry experience in IT and telecommunications project management. Her current research goal is to develop multidisciplinary, secure and highly intelligent solutions for the planning, design and operation of intelligent transportation systems.
