Dr. Melvin Wong has been appointed as tenure-track Assistant Professor in Big Data and Transportation in the Department of Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands. Melvin obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from Ryerson University in August 2019. During his PhD, he was supervised by Dr Bilal Farooq at the Laboratory of Innovations in Transportation, and developed deep generative models for travel behaviour analysis in his PhD dissertation.
He has been a postdoc in the Transport and Mobility (TRANSP-OR) Laboratory at EPFL since February 2020. He was also a postdoc at LiTrans in 2019. His research focuses on deep learning and data science methods for travel behaviour modelling and sustainable transport. He will join the Urban Planning and Transportation Group at TU/e from January 2022.
