In August 2021, Dr. Ranwa Al Mallah will be joining the Department of Computer Science at the University of Dayton as an assistant professor. The department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, and also a certificate in Autonomous Systems and Data Science. In her new role, Dr. Al Mallah will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, pursue an externally funded research program, advise and mentor students, and engage in service to the university and the community. Dr. Al Mallah has been working at LiTrans as a Postdoctoral Researcher since February 2020. Dr. Al Mallah was developing multidisciplinary, secure and highly intelligent solutions for the planning, design and operation of Intelligent Transportation Systems. She experimented in federated learning and the blockchain technology and its network to address cybersecurity challenges in cyber physical systems. Her methodologies involve artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning, big data analytics, data mining, game/decision theories and algorithm design. She was also associated with LiTrans during her PhD studies at Polytechnique Montréal.
