August 15, 2026

Dr. Farzan Moosavi was part of the NSERC CREATE - Smart Mobility Advanced Research & Training (SMART) team that visited the Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) in The Pas, Manitoba, from August 11-14.

During the visit, he participated in varoious activities at the Beatrice Wilson Health Centre, digital health, and micro-mobility delivery. He had engaging conversations with the residents and OCN Health Authority staff about how they currently receive packages, groceries, and medications, and their openness to autonomous delivery alternatives.

According to Dr. Moosavi, medical delivery was confirmed as the anchor use case. Community members ranked it as the most important, which aligns perfectly with the Health Authority partnership channel. He plans to use these findings in the development of his research.
